You reveal said picture, expecting a great response, only for them to say it looks terrible. All your hard work, only for them to point out the flaws. Only for them to hate it. Only for them to say they want to throw it away, rip it to pieces, or scribble over it.
{ The painter is God, and you are the picture. }
As humans we look at our flaws & constantly point them out. We sometimes hate ourselves. We want to fix certain things about ourselves. We want to "throw it away" { Sometimes this leads to the tragic case of suicide. } We want to "rip it to pieces" { Aka, cutting. } Or "scribble over it" { Putting on so much makeup to hide our actual beauty. } Don't you see, it hurts God when we say we hate ourselves. It hurts Him when you say you're not pretty. It hurts Him when you don't love yourself. God spent so long perfecting each little detail about you. Whether that be your button-like nose, your freckles, your long legs, or your snorting laugh, God made this detail special to y o u.
{ Scripture about Beauty }
Song of Solomon 4:7 // You are all together beautiful, my darling; There is no flaw in you.
Psalm 139: 13-17 // For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mothers womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
Please remember that you are a masterpiece. God doesn't make mistakes. He doesn't make ugly things. You are so beautiful, never doubt that.
Blessings!
All glory to the Most High King!
